Pulling Strings

the-art-of-the-con:

Wedding bells, encounters with your ex’s, and the in-laws….Just another day in the New York White Collar Crime office.

This, I’ll have to say, is one of my favorite episodes this season. And it’s not just because Sara and June came back. That was just a bonus. It was funny and snappy, everything you’d expect from a White Collar episode. It was also written by my favorite White Collar writer, Channing Powell. If you don’t know much about her, I suggest you look her up on Twitter, then you’ll understand my love for her.

So Diana is getting married and I may or may not have jumped off of my bed screaming. In light of all the positive movement on the equal rights front for gay marriage (New York legalizing gay marriage and Prop 8 being called unconstitutional) I was beyond happy! I’m so glad that White Collar is taking a stand (not that they haven’t before) and supporting the LGBTQ community. Also because of this engagement, we get to see a more insecure side of Diana, which is nice. I always love learning more about the characters.

Speaking of learning more about the characters, we got some Sara backstory and an ex-boyfriend. All the banter between Sara and Neal and Neal and Sara’s Ex was priceless. But it’s clear that Sara and Neal have some unresolved issues and as a Sara/Neal shipper, I hope there is a future for them, a future beyond just friends.

Now can I just say that I love Peter Burke. When he wore that god awful sweater and tired so hard to impress Elizabeth’s father (even after 10 years) I couldn’t help but fall even more in love with him. Tim DeKay got to show off his comedy chops again, which I am always up for. And the fact that Neal, Mozzie, and Diana all wanted to meet the in-laws was just too good.

Another thing I apove of is the Neal/Diana friendship. I love it. Here is someone, just like Peter, all for the law, becoming friends with a con man. I’m really looking forward to how this friendship is going to play out. Which leads me to my last point.

Kramer. Clearly there is something going on other than just a routine check up for Neal’s hearing. He suspects something and I’m afraid that he won’t stop until he get’s what he wants. And I’m counting on Diana’s relationship with Neal to be strong enough that she won’t flip on him or Peter for that matter.

All in all, great episode, I really loved it. Now we have to wait TWO WHOLE WEEKS for the next episode!! And then one more after that and Season 3 is over!! Time really does fly! But have no fear, White Collar will be back before we know it. See you in two weeks Collars!!

oh and that creepy ass doll needs to burn. I’m just saying.

This episode had me and my husband rolling.  Our marriage is so much like a twisted convoluted mixture of Peter/Elle’s relationship and Neal/Sara’s relationship.  But it works, and works well.
