Original Characters - WereWorld!Verse (w/Cr1mson)
Characters created between me and Cr1mson for the “Give me a name, I’ll give you a character” writing exercise.
For now, let’s just call this one “WereWorld!Verse”:
(This is still a work-in-progress. Will be updated as necessary.)
(Character Count: 3)
What he looks like: 28 year old Nate is the epitome of a gentle giant. The pale, freckled red-head stands 6’11” and weighs around 225 lbs. However, don’t let that number fool you. It’s not fat. It’s sheer muscle. The man is built like a bear… Which is just as well because he is a bear too… A “werebear.” In his bear-form, his fur is as the same rich crimson color as his hair is when he’s human, and just as soft. However, as a bear he weighs probably twice as much as he does when he’s human, and that too is solid muscle as well. When he’s in an inbetween form, he gains fur all over his body, has a bear-like head, and has long claws on his fingers and toes. However, he’s able to stand upright and retains his human hands and ability to speak English.
Where he lives: Nate makes his home in a decent sized town secluded in the mountains of Colorado. Unknown to the rest of the world, this town’s residents are made up primarily by were-creatures and is one of several such communities in the United States. He lives with younger half-sister, who’s only twelve years old.
A weakness: Nate is horribly near sighted, even in his bear form. Because of transformations messing with his eyes shape and size, it’s impossible for him to wear contact lenses. So even as a bear, he has to wear glasses. Without them he’s practically blind. Though over the years he’s gotten quite good at keeping human-styled glasses balanced on his muzzle.
A strength: The greatest strength Nate has is his ability to hold his temper and remain calm, which is not a common trait among werebears. Unlike most werebears who often go into a feral mindset when they transform to a total bear form, even as a full bear he retains his human consciousness.
Someone else in his life: Penelope (Penny) Hawthorne
——- ——- ——- ——- ——-
What she looks like: 24-year-old Penny is short and slight, the precise opposite of her cousin, Nate. She stands at only 5’4” tall and weighs only 134 pounds. She has the barest hint of her father’s dark complexion, though not quite to the same degree. Where his skin is mocha, hers is a sort of very light brown or beige. Enough of the Fielderman heritage is in her veins that she carries a full head of the infamous scorching red locks, silky and always perfectly curled. Her eyes, amber as the morning sun, carry a sort of dangerous quality befitting a werecat. In cat form, she’s a sleek red mountain lion, toned and poised and graceful. Someplace in between, her face is more elongated, her eyes slanted upward with slit pupils, silky fur sprouting all over her body, and curved claws on her fingers and paw-like feet.
Where he lives: Penny lives in the same town as Nate and his half-sister, just a few blocks down from them. She’s still in her parents’ home because her mother is sick with…something. No one’s sure what. The ever-mounting threat of financial disaster for her parents keeps her from leaving until she knows everything’s okay. Her dad’s taken some extra odd jobs in an effort to raise more money for them. Penny has taken…other work.
A weakness: She sometimes gets a little carried away with her feline sensibilities. Penny is beautiful, and she knows it. Her beauty is second only to her experience on the streets as her primary money-maker. She knows what it takes to seduce, and werecats often can’t help themselves. It’s all in her blood, the sensual gait, the purr of her voice. Sometimes she catches herself doing it around family, too.
A strength: She is absolutely feral when she has to be. Sometimes, she comes across scum willing to hurt someone to get a few bucks, or some pleasure. Sometimes, the shadows aren’t so nice to her. Penny has learned to fight back, and she will do whatever it takes to protect someone in need. Especially someone she loves.
Someone else in his life: Ramon Azar
——- ——- ——- ——- ——-
What he looks like: Ramon is a tall, athletically built african american man in his mid-50s. He has a bald head that he keeps shaved, and a neatly trimmed mustache and soul patch on his chin. He’s a successful high-priced defense lawyer in the nearby city of Grand Junction, CO. He’s not a were-creature of any sort. He’s a normal human man.
Where he lives: Being the high priced attorney that he is, Ramon lives in his own modern, high priced three-story townhouse in a nice wealthy neighborhood. It’s the kind of area where there’s no real estate under $300k to be found It’s decked out with the best furniture, appliances, and electronics money can buy.
A weakness: Over the years of being an attorney Ramon has developed a strong distrust of love and relationships. He especially doesn’t trust women, and actually prefers the intimate company of a “working girl” because at least, in his mind, they’re honest about their intentions. For them, it’s all business, and at the end of the night, it’s about the money that crosses their palm. Because he knows that if anyone found out he regularly sees prostitutes it would damage his career, he’s extremely discreet about his interactions with them, and usually only sees one at a time. He’s currently the regular customer of Penny Hawthorne.
A strength: Because Ramon is an extremely successful lawyer and has gotten a lot of high profile people out of seriously bad situations, a lot of powerful people across the country, both in the government and in the criminal underworld, owe him numerous favors. There’s a reason he’s never had to pay for a single traffic ticket in over ten years, why he always gets out of jury duty, and why he always gets invited to the most exclusive, high profile social events in not just Colorado, but New York and California.
