My favorite cartoonist is the manga artist Rumiko Takahashi.

She is such an important influential figure in the history of manga.  I’ve been a fan of many of her works, including Maison Ikkoku, Mermaid Saga, Ranma 1/2, and Inu Yasha.

I love the stories she’s written, and I adore the style of her artwork.  She does it all on her own.  Writes, pencils, and inks.  

She’s an inspiration to anyone, especially women, who want to strike out and produce comic books all on their own.
