Narnia AU verse musings…

Ideas that take place after [Angel-Gidget’s wonderful Narnia/Red Robin crossover story]

  • [Tim and Tam move into an old house] that used to be owned by Susan Pevensie.
  • Susan had moved to the United States, to a heavily forested rural area an hour outside of Gotham City, shortly after the deaths of the greater part of her family due to a tragic train crash. With the inheritance she received from her parents’ deaths, she bought ten acres of land and had a classic Victorian styled house built on a small natural clearing on the property. Once it was completed, she had furnishings and artwork that she owned shipped to the States from London. Included among her property was one item she did not inherit from her family, but from a man named Digory Kirke, who died in the same train crash as her siblings and parents. In his will, these particular pieces were to be left to the Pevensie children upon his death. Since Susan’s brothers and sister had died in the same train crash, she was the only one left to inherit.
  • That one item was a hand carved antique wardrobe.
  • Tim and Tam live in the Pevensie House for a month before his family realizes that he’s actually moved out of the city. Damian is the one who discovers this. He gets injured while on solo patrol and the closest place to get himself patched up is Tim’s house in Gotham. Tim is on a mission with the Titans, so he’s in LA at the time. Damian slips into the house and is surprised to see that everything in the livable part of the building (bedrooms, living room, kitchen, etc) is covered in drop cloths to protect them from a thin layer of dust that’s covering everything else. Rather than confront Tim about it, he goes to his father with his discovery. This, along with other “odd” behavior recently observed in Tim and Tam, sparks the recon orders by Bruce on his adopted son.
  • [After the truth of Tim and Tam are revealed], that first weekend afterward they invite Bruce to visit their new home. Alfred and Damian join Bruce in coming to the Pevensie House. Alfred is delighted by Tim’s new home, and mostly reassured by his grandson and his wife’s seemingly new-found ‘stability’. Bruce and Damian (Dami especially) look at the house and immediately wonder where Tim is keeping his vigilante equipment. Eventually, after several visits, Bruce realizes that Tim keeps nothing related to “Red Robin” or “Batman Inc.” at the his home.
  • Damian, however, is not convinced. Whenever he gets a chance to visit, which is whenever his father or Alfred go to see Tim and Tam (Alfred more often than Bruce) he makes it a point to thoroughly investigate some part of the house, in search for some secret room. Mostly, he’s been convinced that Tim has something hidden below the basement of the house.
  • Truth is, Tim has nothing hidden in the house related to Red Robin or Batman Inc. He chose this place with Tam to give them a sanctuary away from his work. Red Robin exists everyplace else in the world, except for the ten acres the Pevensie House sits on.
  • The only one of Tim’s adopted siblings to visit his home, prior to Dick and the others, is Cass. She visits after a mission goes south and she gets injured so badly she needs a solid month to recover. She spends the month at the Pevensie House. Her favorite pastime there is exploring the wooded acreage, especially along the stream where she watches animals come in to drink.
  • A year after their return from Narnia, Tim and Tam invite his family and hers to their home for a weekend visit. His siblings arrive first on Saturday. Dick and Damian share a car, and Jason drives Cass and Steph. Bruce, Alfred, Lucius, and his wife are slated to arrive on Sunday.
  • The gathering is mostly because the anniversary of their leaving Narnia is weighing heavily on Tim and Tam, and they would rather not face the homesickness for their former home alone.
  • For Dick, Jason, and Steph, this is their first visit to the Pevensie House.
  • That afternoon, while the rest of his siblings are downstairs with Tim and Tam, conversing over preparing dinner and touring the rest of the house, Damian realizes there’s one room in the house that he has yet to check for secrets.
  • That room is the attic…
  • Where a certain antique wooden wardrobe still sits covered by a large dusty cloth…
  • And has been mostly forgotten about by the new owners of the home…
  • On a side note, over the past year, a certain notable member of Batman’s Rogues Gallery has gone missing.
  • Sometime in the last six months, Victor Frieze (aka Mr. Freeze) escaped from Arkham Asylum and hasn’t been seen since.
  • It was the oddest thing, though…
  • One day Victor was there…
  • The next, he was just vanished, with no signs of any forcible entry or exit from his refrigerated cell.
  • The only clue regarding his escape was a single word traced into the frost on Victor’s cell. It had been smudged badly so that only three letters could be discerned by investigators.
  • “J-A-?-?-S”
