"Shattered Core" is the fourth in a series of abstract mandalas.

Like its predecessors, the original 7” circular design was drawn using black Pigma pens on a 9”x9” piece of watercolor paper.

If the cracks that run through the mandala seem to strongly resemble a hand, that is because it is supposed to. While designing “Shattered Core” I initially had a hard time deciding how the cracks would run through the piece. I know I wanted it broken, but I didn’t know how.

Then I had placed my own hand over the image and I was inspired.

Shattered Core prints for sale at Society6.com.
